Tough Love

If you refuse to discipline your children, it proves you don't love them; if you love your children, you will be prompt to discipline them. (Proverbs 13:24)


Being a divorced father I face incredible challenges when I am able to see my two sons. They have very distinct personalities and require different parenting (tactics if you will). I have to blend the "let's have fun" dad, with the "I'm the parent" dad. I have found in the years that have followed my divorce have been, at times, very trying as a father. As we progress from adolescence into adulthood we discover that our parents were usually only trying to help us and prevent us from getting hurt. God has instilled in most of us an ability to feel pain...I think He created us as a direct result of Love...
I've always thought we need to love our children the most when they feel like we love them the least.
